There are traits and qualities endemic and observable in that they are clearly evident among Al Quadea members whether they in Afghanistan , or in a courthouse in Seattle or anywhere else for that matter.

These fighters seem to be brainwashed in that they have conquered the fear of death. “Our enemies will lose. They love life more than we do” is the best summary of the martyrdom. While some in the Muslim community call this heresy , the mainstream of the muslim communities remain forever silent.

As well as pioneering as a political and military vanguard , the islamist cadres of Al Quaeda , spawned and sustained by the Moslem Brotherhoods teaching and legacies are an inspirational model for other Islamists. To put into practice Azzam’s pan-arabic ideology Osama and Al Quaeda’s membership have built and expanded their organization into a quiet deadly worldwide network.

It must jump into the fire of the toughest tests and into the waves of fierce trials.

The training leadership shares with them the testing march, the sweat and the blood. The leadership music is like the motherly warmth o f a hen whose chicks grow under its wings , throughout the long period of hatching and training.

This vanguard has to obtain from cheap worldly pleasures and must bear the distinct stamp of abstinence and frugality.

In like manner it must be endowed with firm belief and must be have trust in our ideologies instilled with a lot of hope for victory.

There must must be a strong determination and insistence to continue the march , marching no matter where or how long it takes to reach our goals.

Substantial Incomes

It is a world in which there is one master, one sovereign— one center of authority, one center of force, one center of decision-making. And at the end of the day this is pernicious not only for all those within this system, but also for the sovereign itself because it destroys itself from within. It has nothing in common with democracy, which is the power of the majority in respect to the interests and opinions of the minority. In Russia, we are constantly being lectured about democracy. But for some reason those who teach us do not want to learn themselves. (Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address to the Munich Conference on Security Policy 2-10-07)

The deployment of the US Missile Defense System in Eastern Europe is a de-facto declaration of war on the Russian Federation. As Russian President Putin said in a recent press conference, this missile system is put in place; it will work automatically with the entire nuclear capability of the United States. It will be an integral part of the US nuclear capability. This will disrupt the current configuration of international security and force Russia to begin work on a new regime of tactical nuclear weapons. This is a very serious development. Russia will now have to rethink its current policy vies a vies the United States and develop a long-range strategy for fending off further hostile encroachments into former-Soviet states by NATO. Welcome to the new Cold War. A Putin cannot ignore the gravity of the proposed system or the threat it poses to Russia national security. Bush’s Missile Defense is not defensive at all, but offensive. His plan would put American military bases–with nuclear infrastructure and sophisticated radar-systems– right on Russia’s doorstep giving the US a clear advantage in first-strike capability. That means that Washington will be able to intimidate Russia on issues that are of critical international importance. Putin cannot allow this. He must force Bush to remove this dagger held to Moscow’s throat.  Bush’s Pyrrhic victory at the G-8

The central issues on the agenda at the G-8 meetings were downplayed in the media. Instead, the press focused its attention on the anticipated clash between Bush and Putin. But, the brouhaha never materialized; both were respectful and gracious.

President Bush, however, was adamant that his plan for missile defense in Czechoslovakia and Poland would go ahead according to schedule. Putin, for the most part remained politely silent. His objections were censored in the media.

Less than 10 hours after the closing ceremonies of the G-8, Putin fired off the first salvo in what will a  probably be remembered as war that brought down the Empire Putin addressed 200 corporate leaders at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg and his comments left little doubt that he had already settled on a plan for countering Bush’s missile shield in the Czech Republic . Paten’s speech articulated his vision of a Moscow-centered new world order which would create a “new balance of power” that was less dependent on Washington .Â

He said, “the new architecture of economic relations requires a completely new approach. Russia intends to become an alternative global financial center and to make the ruble a reserve currency for central banks

The world is changing before our eyes. Countries that yesterday seemed hopelessly behind are today the fastest growing economies of the world.” Institutions such as the World Trade Organization and the IMF are “archaic, undemocratic and inflexible”. They do not reflect the new balance of power.”  A

Putin’s speech is a repudiation of the present system. He is announcing the beginning of an asymmetrical war that is designed to cripple the United States economically, weaken the institutions which have traditionally enhanced its wealth, and precipitate a shift of global power away from Washington .Â

Putin’s challenge to the US dollar is particularly worrisome. He emphasizes the inherent unfairness of “dollar hegemony” which has an extremely negative effect on the economies of smaller countries.

“There can be only one answer to this challenge boomed. The creation of several world currencies and several financial centers.

Putin imagines a world where goods and resources are traded in rubles or baskets of currencies—not just greenbacks. This would create greater parity between the countries and a more even distribution of wealth. A

He intends to depose the dollar as the world’s only “international currency”. There are signs that this process may have already started. A In the last 6 months, Norway , Iran , Syria , UAE, Kuwait , and Venezuela have announced that they are either cutting back on their USD reserves or converting from the greenback to the euro or a basket of currencies€. The slumping dollar is weakening on all fronts. If the greenback loses its place as the world’s reserve currency the US will have to pay-down its monstrous current account deficit and live within its means. America will lose the ability to simply print fiat money and use it in exchange for valuable resources and manufactured goods. Putin is now threatening to cut-off the flow of cheap credit which is the source of the Superpower’s strength.

Can he carry it off? What kind of damage can Russia inflict on the dollar or on the many lofty-sounding organizations (WTO, World Bank, IMF, NATO and Federal Reserve) which prop up the US Empire? Russia’s power is steadily growing. Its GDP is leaping ahead at 8% per annum and by 2020 Russia will be among the five biggest economies in the world. It now has the third largest Forex reserves in the world and it is gradually moving away from the anemic dollar to euros and rubles. Nearly 10% of its wealth is in gold. A

Russia has also overtaken Saudi Arabia as the worlds leading supplier of petroleum. It produces 13% of the worlds daily output and has the world’s largest reserves of natural gas. In fact, Putin is working energetically to create the world’s first natural gas an alliance between Russia, Qatar, Iran and Algeria. The group could potentially control 40% of the worlds remaining natural gas and set prices as it sees fit. A

Putin’s ambitions are not limited to the energy sector either—although he has strengthened the nation by turning away foreign investment and through nationalization of vital resources. As Pavel Korduban says in his article Putin Harvests Political Dividends from Russian Economic Dynamism; Putin is looking beyond energy to technological modernization. As Korduban says:

The shift in official discourse to innovations€ reflects an attempt to reorient economic policy from the goal of consolidating the status of energy superpower to the emphasis on industrial modernization and catching up with the technological revolution. The key role in formulating this new policy is given to Sergei Ivanov, who promised that by the year 2020 Russia would gain leadership (measured as 10% of the world market) in such high-technology sectors as nuclear energy, shipbuilding, aircraft, satellites and delivery systems, and computer software.

Putin has also strengthened ties with his Central Asian neighbors and engaged in cooperative military maneuvers with China.

Last month it signed deals with Turkmenistan , Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to revive the Soviet-era united system of gas pipelines, which will help Russia strengthen its role of the monopoly supplier from the regional€. (Reuters) He has transformed the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) into a formidable economic-military alliance capable of resisting foreign intervention in Central Asia by the United States and NATO.Â

The CIS is bound to play a major role in regional issues as the real motives behind the war on terror are exposed and America’s geopolitical objectives in Central Asia become clearer. So far, Washington has established its military bases and outposts throughout the region with impunity. But the mood in Moscow and Beijing has soured and there may be changes in the near future. We should also remember that Putin is surrounded by ex-KGB agents and Soviet-era hardliners. They have never trusted America’s motives and now they can point to the new US bases, the colored-coded revolutions, the broken treaties and the projected missile defense system—to prove that Uncle Sam is up to no good.

Putin sees himself as leading a global insurgency against the empire. He speaks for the emerging-market economies of Russia, China, India and Brazil. These 4 nations will progressively overtake the Cold order.Last year, 60% of the world’s output was produced outside the G-7 countries. According to Goldman Sachs, by 2050 Brazil, Russia, India and China will be the world’s leading economies.

Current immigration law provides that anyone who enters the U.S. without inspection (without being inspected at a U.S. Customs point of entry and granted admission) and who stays for more than 180 days is barred from returning to the U.S. for a period of 3 years. If one enters without inspection and stays for more than 360 days he or she will be barred from returning to the U.S. for 10 years.

This often puts immigrant families in a very difficult situation. We frequently see couples where one party is a U.S. Citizen and the other party is an immigrant who entered the country without inspection. Even though the immigrant spouse is married to a U.S. Citizen he cannot gain lawful status in the U.S. (at least not very easily.) This is for two reasons: 1) he cannot “adjust his status” to a lawful permanent resident because he has not lawful status in the U.S.; and 2) if he leaves the U.S. to apply for a visa the 3/10 year bar will apply to him and he’ll be barred from returning.

This leaves the immigrant between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, if he stays in the U.S. he will never gain lawful status unless or until the law changes, but if he leaves to apply for a visa he will not be allowed to return for 3/10 years.

The immigrant can apply for a waiver of the 3/10 year bar but this cannot be done until the immigrant leaves the U.S. Thus, the immigrant has to leave the U.S. and be subjected to the bar without any guarantee of success. Furthermore, the success rates of the waiver applications are not encouraging in most countries.

Ideally, the new proposed immigration reform bill will change all this and provide new options for undocumented immigrants

==== Motel patron uses Bible to set blazes ====
== by Mike Long==
http://politicalmavens.com/index.php/2007/06/15/motel-patron-uses-bible-to-set-blazes/
Nope, this isn’t political. But I write fiction and when I find this kind of
story I print it out to save it. If any readers are interested in how writers
do their work, keeping an eye out for this kind of thing is part of it. It’s
the sort of odd anecdote/detail that I could use someday.

==== June Surprise: Gaza’s Awash in Blood ====
== by Heather Robinson==
http://politicalmavens.com/index.php/2007/06/15/june-surprise-gazas-awash-in-blood/
Earlier this month, I reported in The New York Sun
http://www.nysun.com/article/55653?page_no=1 on the courageous work of attorney
Brooke Goldstein, who in 2003, at age 24, risked her life to go into the
schools, into the streets, and into the homes of the Palestinian Arabs to see
with her own eyes what children were being taught. What is remarkable, based on
what she heard and saw, is not that these children are filled with deep
prejudice and hatred, for they have been systematically bred and brainwashed
for the purpose of jihad. What is astounding—and testament, perhaps, to the
existence of a God even in Gaza–is that despite it, they retain some portion
of the innocence and openness that are all children’s natural inheritance.
I suppose it is that very openness, which enhances children’s sweetness and
beauty that makes them especially susceptible to indoctrination.
In his classic novel “Brave New World,” Aldous Huxley describes the
indoctrination of babies whereby groups in different rooms are differently
educated, the repetition actually co-creating the personality and physiology,
so the babies would carry forth into adulthood those features desired by the
state.
Decades of systematic brainwashing by the Palestinian Authority and now
Hamas—“education” steeped in hatred of Jews, Israelis, Americans, and
Christians, and in unnatural death-worship—have produced a Palestinian
“society” I fear can only degenerate further and continue to plague the
world.
You cannot brainwash children to hate and expect peace in those children’s
lifetimes, unless—and forgive the honesty here–you defeat them so
overwhelmingly their spirits are truly broken, as in the cases of Nazi Germany
and Imperial Japan post World War Two. Once a murderous ideology becomes the
norm, I do not believe it is likely that a society will voluntarily give up
that ideology, which has in essence become a deep part of its societal
character and, on an individual level, a feature of identity. Only when their
spirits are truly crushed is there a chance to instill something better. This
sounds very harsh, but I know of no historical precedent in which a society
wedded to a murderous, sick, violent ideology voluntarily gave it up as a
result of any kind of negotiation or appeasement, without having been
vanquished.
There must be a unique place in hell for anyone who would use a child as an
instrument of war, because the pain and suffering created spans out far beyond
the lifetime of that child, producing victims and suffering into future
generations. It is truly the ugliest crime, and produces the most far-reaching
ill-effects. Abuse an adult and you wound him or her. Turn a child into a
monster and you are robbing him or her of a childhood, a life, and doing the
same to countless others, including those who do not wish to fight the adults
those children will become, but will be forced to.
The Palestinian situation has devolved and will, I fear, continue to, like some
kind of out-of-control experiment in which a toxin cultivated to infect an
imagined enemy eventually turns on its creator and the rest of the world.
Hatred spawns hatred, and education—true and healthy education–is vital to
the functioning of any normal society. In recognizing the importance of this,
modern liberals are correct. I believe they are naïve, however, in believing
that, once a society has been poisoned by hatred, and worship of violence has
become the norm, there can be any reasoning with that society

MAK’s Emir ( leader) Azzam and his deputy Emir , Osama , worked closely with Pakistan , especially its formidable ISI. They also had close contacts with the Saudi government and royal family. Of course Saudi philanthropists and the Moslem Brotherhood were allied through the coordination of Noell Vandal. The ISA was both the CIA’s conduit for arms transfers and the principal trainers of the the Afghan, Afghani and foreign mujahadin. This of course was to haunt the U.S. and its allies after the Sept 11 World Trade Towers Debacle et al. So notes Mr Noell. Vandal. The United States provided sophisticated weapons and weaponry including ground to air missiles “Stinger” missiles and satellite imagery of Soviet troop deployments . The Saudi Chief of Intelligene ” Prince Turki” , worked closely with Osama to coordinate both the fighting and relief efforts while two Saudi banks – Dar al-mal , founded by Prince Turk’s brother Prince Mohammed Faisal and Dalla al Baraka , founded by King Fahd’s brother in law , funneled and channeled funds to twenty NGOs . The best known of thisw as the Islamic Relief Agency.

Such was the role of Islam and the radical Wahabi sect for the benefit and spread of the believers. Onward to Jihad and Sept 11 .

According to court documents, Moeller and Vitale had devised a way to defeat AOL’s filtering system. During one week in August 2005, the two of them managed to target over 1.27 million AOL e-mail addresses with spam. The indictment accuses of them of violating a section of the CAN-SPAM Act that says that “the volume of electronic mail messages transmitted in furtherance of the offense exceeded 2,500 during any 24-hour period, 25,000 during any 30-day period, or 250,000 during any 1-year period.” The charges appear to be limited solely to the activities involving the government informant, despite the pair’s long track record with spam.

if you’ve ever wondered how lucrative spam can be, wonder no more. Moeller was caught bragging to the informant about the money he was making: as much as $40,000 per week. Pump-and-dump stock e-mails were the most lucrative, Moeller reportedly said. With the potential profits so great and hordes of botnets available to do much of the dirty work, it’s no wonder that spammers have been largely undeterred by legislation such as the CAN-SPAM Act.

Passed in 2004, CAN-SPAM has proven to be largely ineffective, despite government claims to the contrary and a few high-profile arrests. In fact, research group IDC predicts that the spam will overtake human-sent e-mail sometime in 2007. The picture in the US has improved somewhat over the past couple of years, but gains here have been largely offset by increased activity in Europe and Asia.

The world’s top military powers are gradually dismantling their stockpiles of nuclear arms, but all are developing new missiles and warheads with smaller yields that could increase the risk of atomic warfare, a Swedish research institute said Monday.

In its annual report on military forces around the globe, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute also said the rising number of nations with nuclear weapons is raising the risk such arms could be used.

“The concern is that countries are starting to see these weapons as useable, whereas during the Cold War they were seen as a deterrent,” said Ian Anthony, a nuclear expert at the institute.

SIPRI for the first time counted North Korea among the world’s nuclear countries, because of its underground test explosion of an atomic device last October. While saying it remains unclear whether the communist country has developed a deliverable nuclear weapon, the institute estimated North Korea could have produced about six nuclear bombs, based on its stockpiles of plutonium.

Iran is a potential member of the nuclear club if it decides to turn its uranium enrichment program to military use, Anthony said — something the U.S. and its allies suspect is the Tehran regime’s plan but Iranian leaders deny.

“Iran could appear on this list, but at the earliest five years from now,” Anthony said.

The U.S., Russia, China, France, Britain, Pakistan and India are known to have nuclear weapons, while Israel is thought by most experts to have them.

The report estimated those nations had 11,530 warheads available for delivery by missile or aircraft at the start of 2007, with Russia and the United States accounting for more than 90 percent — 5,614 in Russia and 5,045 in the U.S.

Both countries are reducing their stockpiles as part of bilateral treaties, but are developing new weapons as they modernize their forces. Britain, France and China also plan to deploy new nuclear weapons, the institute said.

India, Pakistan and Israel each have dozens of warheads, but their stockpiles are believed to be only partly deployed, the institute said.

“India and Pakistan are both thought to be expanding their nuclear strike capabilities, while Israel seems to be waiting to see how the situation in Iran develops,” it said.

The United States remained the world’s biggest military spender last year, devoting about $529 billion to its military forces while China overtook Japan as Asia’s top arms spender, the report said.

U.S. military spending grew from $505 billion in 2005 mainly because of the “costly military operations” in Iraq and Afghanistan, SIPRI said. “This massive increase in U.S. military spending has been one of the factors contributing to the deterioration of the U.S. economy since 2001,” it said.

The U.S. was followed by Britain and France in military spending, while China’s expenditures reached nearly $50 billion, making it the fourth biggest arms spender in the world, SIPRI said. Japan was fifth at $43.7 billion.

Russia, which spent $34.7 billion on arms, has used its energy wealth to revive national pride, to restore its influence “in surrounding countries and to maximize its geopolitical power,” SIPRI said.

All the numbers were figured in 2005 dollars.

International arms sales have grown since 2002, with China and India being the biggest importers and the U.S. and Russia the two major exporters, the report said.

Five Middle Eastern countries were among the top 10 importers of weapons.

“While much media attention was given to arms deliveries to Iran, mainly from Russia, deliveries from the USA and European countries to Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were significantly larger,” the report said.

UK Politicians Legitimize The Brotherhood

333KamalHelbawy The Muslim BrotherhoodIn Britain in 1997, the Muslim Brotherhood founded the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB). This group claims to be moderate, and promotes missionary (dawah) work among the young. Its founder, Kamal Tawfik Helbawy, was at that time the Brotherhood’s European spokesman. Born in Egypt in 1939, he had been a member of the Brotherhood since the age of 12. He co-founded the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) in Saudi Arabia in 1972 with Abdullah bin Laden, Osama’s nephew. WAMY is an organization which has been accused of funding terrorist organizations, including Hamas. Kamal Helbawy was WAMY’s first president.

In November 1997, in the same year that he had founded MAB, Helbawy helped to found the Muslim Council for Britain (MCB), which was officially inaugurated on March 1, 1998. As Helbawy stated in a 2005 interview: “I played a role in the establishment of the MCB. Our objective was that the MCB should remain independent and its primary function should be to represent and protect the interests of Muslims.”

The MCB, whose senior members have supported extremism, enjoyed an unprecedented position with Blair’s government, acting as advisers on all things Islamic. In June 2005 its then-secretary general Iqbal Sacranie was given a knighthood by Blair, even though he is an anti-Semite who wishes to see Holocaust Memorial day scrapped. In 1996, Sacranie supported plans to invite Osama bin Laden to the UK to lecture to Muslims, claiming the terrorist was an “Islamic Scholar”. Despite boycotting memorials for the Shoah, Sacranie nonetheless attended a memorial service for Sheikh Yassin, the founder of terror group Hamas. This service was held at London’s Central Mosque in 2004.

In 2005, the MCB persuaded Blair to introduce a bill which would have outlawed any criticism of Islam, which was neutered by the Lords, parliament’s Upper House. In June 2006, the unelected MCB succeeded in persuading the elected Blair government to abandon its 18-month campaign to outlaw forced marriage, which annually affects at least 250 young Muslim girls.

The government has been so manipulated by the claims of the “moderate” Muslims in Britain, that MI6 and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have actively courted the Muslim Brotherhood. The overtures to the Brotherhood have been made through a unit called the “Engaging With the Islamic World Group” (EWIG) which was founded in 2003. EWIG is led by a 27-year old former Muslim radical called Mockbul Ali. In July 2006, this group used taxpayers’ money to pay Yusuf al-Qaradawi, spiritual leader of the Brotherhood, to attend a conference in Turkey. On July 14, 2005, one week after the London bombings, Mockbul Ali argued that a visa should again be given to Qaradawi. That document and others can be found here.

After the London suicide bombings of July 7, 2005, the Blair government invited Tariq Ramadan, son of Said Ramadan and grandson of Hassan al-Banna, to sit on a working committee. This committee was set up to find ways of preventing radicalism amongst Britain’s youth. Ramadan is not even a UK citizen, and according to Jean Charles Brissard, he has had meetings with known terrorists in his native Switzerland. The UK government sponsors a website promoting “the radical middle way” of Islam, where Ramadan has his own page. Tariq Ramadan is still barred from entering to the US, though he insists he is not a Muslim Brotherhood member.

US Politicians Duped By The Brotherhood

2359 The Muslim BrotherhoodIn the United States, one individual maintained a pretense of “moderation” which would later embarrass the left and the right. According to the testimony of Dr. Michael Waller to the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Abdurahman Alamoudi was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. A man born in Eritrea in 1951, he arrived in the US in 1979 and became a naturalized US citizen on May 23, 1996. From 1985 onwards he became involved in many Muslim groups. In 1990 he founded the Washington DC-based American Muslim Council (AMC), which Waller states “has been described as a de facto front of the Muslim Brotherhood.” The AMC was an affiliate of the American Muslim
Foundation, which was also headed by Alamoudi. Despite this, in June 2002 the FBI called the AMC “the most mainstream Muslim group in the United States.”

What is of concern is the manner in which Alamoudi persuaded US authorities under two administrations of his reliability. Around 1993, he was an adviser for the Pentagon on which Muslim chaplains should serve in the US military. He continued this role until 1998. From 1997 he acted for the State Department as a “goodwill ambassador” to Muslim countries. He was regularly at the Clinton White House and had advised Hillary Rodham Clinton on managing iftar dinners since 1996. Alamoudi had made donations to the Democrat party but was open to wooing the opposition.

In 1998, as Frank Gaffney recounted, Republican Grover Norquist formed the Islamic Institute, which aimed to recruit Muslim and Arab Americans to support the GOP. Alamoudi made contributions both to the Islamic Institute and later, in 2000 and 2001, he made payments to a lobbying firm connected with Norquist.

Alamoudi’s Brotherhood connections were not touted openly, but in August 1997, he was publicly proclaiming on Fox TV that Hamas was a “freedom fighting organization”. Hamas had started its first bombings of Israeli civilians in February 1996, a year earlier. On October 28, 2000, Alamoudi attended an anti-Israel protest at Lafayette Park outside the White House, where he was caught on video proclaiming “I have been labeled… as being a supporter of Hamas. Anybody supporters of Hamas here? Hear that, Bill Clinton. We are all supporters of Hamas. I wish they added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah. Anybody who supports Hezbollah here?”

Shortly after the White House outburst, Hillary Clinton returned a donation of $1,000 to her election war chest, which Alamoudi had presented on May 25 of that year. Alamoudi embarked upon at least 10 clandestine trips to Libya. On September 28, 2003, after returning from a multi-stage excursion he was arrested at Dulles International Airport. He was handed a 19-count indictment on October 23, on charges including money laundering and dealing with a prohibited nation.

Alamoudi had been stopped at Heathrow on August 16, 2003 before boarding a flight to Syria, and had $340,000 of Libyan money seized. On July 30, 2004, he pleaded guilty to three charges – violating conditions barring transport to, and commerce with, prohibited nations (Libya), failure to disclose to IRS his income, and lying to ICE federal investigators. On October 15, 2004, Alamoudi was given a jail sentence of 23 years. He had told officials that he provided Libyan money to London-based Saudi dissidents to finance a plot to assassinate Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah.

Politicians may have been fooled by Alamoudi, who headed sixteen US-based Islamist organizations, but despite what is known of the Muslim Brotherhood’s support of terrorism and extremism, US politicians are now openly courting the Brotherhood. On April 5 this year in Egypt. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer met with Mohammed Saad el-Katani, the leader of the Brotherhood’s 55 members within the Egyptian parliament. Hamdi Hassan, the Brotherhood’s spokesman, said Hoyer met with el-Katani once at the parliament building and later at the home of the US ambassador to Egypt.

On May 27, a delegation by four members of the House of Congress again met with Mohammed Saad el-Katani in Egypt. The delegation was led by David Price, a Democrat who represents North Carolina.

The Enemy Within

While Said Ramadan was establishing European bases for the Muslim Brotherhood in Geneva and Munich, similar actions were being taken in the United States. In 1962, an organization called the “Cultural Society” was set up, the first Muslim Brotherhood body to be formed on American soil. Muslim Brotherhood members are sworn to secrecy when they join up (”kitman” or concealment) so exact details of this group are murky. The Cultural Society mainly drew its recruits from foreign Muslim students at mid-western universities, such as Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. The name “Cultural Society” was employed to draw attention away from its Brotherhood identity. The following year, the Muslim Students Association (MSA) was formed by the US Brotherhood, and up until the 1970s, new bodies proliferated.

The website of a newer Brotherhood-founded group, the Muslim American Society (MAS) describes its founders as “pioneers” – “The call and the spirit of the movement reached the shores of North America with arrival of Muslim students and immigrants in the late 1950s and early 1960s. These early pioneers and Islamic movement followers established in 1963 the Muslim Student Association (MSA) of the U.S and Canada as a rallying point in their endeavor to serve Islam and Muslims in North America. Other services and outreach organizations soon followed, such as the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), the Islamic Medical Association (IMA), the Muslim Arab Youth Association (MAYA) and the Muslim Youth of North America (MYNA), to name a few.”

All of the groups listed above were formed by the Muslim Brotherhood. MYNA was founded by Ahmed Elkadi, who was the US Brotherhood’s treasurer from the 1970s until 1984, when he became its president. He held this position until 1995, but has since left the Brotherhood. He did not resign from his position as president of the US Ikhwan (MB) – he was pushed.

Other groups were founded by the US Brotherhood later – the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) was formed in the 1980s as an outgrowth of the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

The Muslim American Society, under Brotherhood leadership, was incorporated in 1993 in Illinois. The decision to incorporate the MAS was made at a meeting of 40 Ikhwan (MB) members at a hotel near the Alabama-Tennessee state line. Shaker Elsayed, a leader within MAS, has admitted the Brotherhood had founded the Muslim American Society, saying: “Ikhwan members founded MAS, but MAS went way beyond that point of conception.”

MAS is based in Falls Church, Virginia, the same town where Abdurahman Alamoudi lived. Five miles away in Alexandria lay the US headquarters of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth or WAMY, which was co-founded by a Brotherhood member, Kamal Helbawy. On Friday May 28, 2004 the WAMY offices were raided by agents of the FBI, ICE and the Joint Terrorism Task Force. An affidavit from a customs agent claimed that one WAMY publication included a section entitled “Animosity Toward the Jews”, and stated: “The Jews are humanity’s enemies: they foment immorality in this world.” The affidavit mentioned links with WAMY and the terrorist group Hamas.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali The Muslim BrotherhoodThe director of MAS’ “Freedom Foundation”, Mahdi Bray, pushed for the release of a Falls Church citizen, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who had been accused of plotting to assassinate George W. Bush in an al-Qaeda plot. Ali, who had been educated at the Saudi-funded Islamic Saudi Academy in Alexandria, was convicted on November 22, 2005 and sentenced to 30 years’ jail on March 29, 2005.

MAS, which has 10,000 members in 53 chapters across the US, is also involved in the disputes at Minneapolis-St Paul airport, where Somali taxi drivers have refused to carry passengers carrying alcohol. Three quarters of the 900 drivers are Muslim, mostly from Somalia. Last year, 5,400 potential rides were turned down because passengers had alcohol. The Metropolitan Airport Commission sought guidance from Muslims, and a fatwa was made by the MAS. Khalid Elmasary declared: “It is expressly stated. Transportation of alcohol for Muslims is against the Islamic faith, and therefore forbidden.” The issue still has not been resolved.

It is sometimes hard to work out if such Muslim “representatives” are really following the ways of the prophet, or are following the plans laid out in Muslim Brotherhood’s “Project” manifesto for gaining national and global power.

mahdibray The Muslim BrotherhoodMahdi Bray, who is based in Washington, D.C., where he has a radio talk-show, is accused of taking part in protests where there were calls for the death of Jews. Steve Emerson in his book American Jihad stated that at the October 28, 2000, rally for Hezbollah and Hamas at Lafayette Park, “Mahdi Bray, stood directly behind Alamoudi and was seen jubilantly exclaiming his support for these two deadly terrorist organizations.” Three weeks earlier, Bray had “coordinated and led a rally where approximately 2,000 people congregated in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C…. at one point during the rally, Mahdi Bray played the tambourine as one of the speakers sang, while the crowd repeated: ‘Al-Aqsa is calling us, let’s all go into jihad, and throw stones at the face of the Jews.”

Bray, who was awarded a Congressional Black Caucus award in September last year, has issued a press release claiming “victory” in the settlement of a vindictive lawsuit launched by the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB), which attacked 16 organizations and individuals, including Steve Emerson.

There was no settlement agreed between the parties – the Islamic Society of Boston mysteriously dropped its lawsuit, which claimed “defamation”, on May 29, 2007. With MAS coming to its defense, and with Muslim Brotherhood member Abdurahman Alamoudi listed as one its founders and trustees, with the Muslim Brotherhood’s spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi as another early trustee, it is not unreasonable to assume that the Islamic Society of Boston began its life in 1982 as another outreach of the Muslim Brotherhood. In 2002, Qaradawi appeared by videolink at an ISB fund-raising event.

The ISB, which is building the largest mosque in Eastern United States at Roxborough, Boston, was in January 2006 defended by Arsalan Iftikhar, the legal director of the Council of American Relations (CAIR), who said: “Unfortunately, I see the Boston case as indicative of a growing trend in anti-Muslim rhetoric that has grown after 9/11.” It should be noted that the two co-founders of CAIR, Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad, were officials of the Islamic Association for Palestine, which was established by Hamas member Mousa Abu Marzook, and has been called a “Hamas Front”. Nihad Awad and Ahmed Bedier, head of CAIR’s Florida chapter, have both openly pledged their support for Hamas, which itself is derived from the Muslim Brotherhood.

With its previous links to Muslim Brotherhood members, ISB may be thankful that it was not listed as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a plot to fund Hamas. This has been the recent fate of CAIR. In a trial in Dallas, Texas, Ghassan Elashi, the head of CAIR’s Texas chapter, is accused along with a staggering list of co-conspirators. Elashi was also head of Texas branch of the outlawed Holy Land Foundation. The indictment maintains that other officials from the Texas branch of the Holy Land Foundation had conspired with numerous others to supply funds to Hamas. Ghassan Elashi and his brothers Bayan and Basman were convicted of “conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists” on April 13, 2005. Elashi was given a seven year sentence on October 13, 2006.

The named co-conspirators include eight Muslim Brotherhood individuals and organizations: Abdurahman Alamoudi, Gaddor Ibrahim Saidi, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Muslim Arab Youth Association (MAYA), Nizar Minshar, North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), Raed Awad and Tareq Suwaidan. The trial will begin on July 16. The trial will hopefully clarify further the exact roles of CAIR, and also the mysterious American contingent of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood is not a body to be trusted. It claims peace and moderation, while simultaneously planning to conquer the globe by fair means or foul. It propagates anti-Semitism, and justifies and supports the murder of Israeli civilians. Its current motto is: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Koran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.” Those politicians who try to make deals with such a group are betraying not only the people who elected them and the nations they serve, but they jeopardize the security of the Western world at large.

Unsated by the last of the world’s tigers, the Chinese are turning to lions

A TESTY flick of a black-tipped tail and the lion shows itself, resting in a sandy-brown thicket after the arduous business of mating. The female is ten yards to the right, staring statuesque through the scrub. The pair of Asiatic lions, in Gir National Park, in India’s western state of Gujarat, will conjoin every 25 minutes for four days. With every ejaculation, the male will emit an increasingly weary roar. Being a lion is not easy—and not only because the species is so inefficient at reproducing.

Reuters

You say the Chinese eat what?

Little known even in India, the 350-odd lions at Gir are the last survivors of a sub-species that once roamed from Greece to eastern India. The lions in Daniel’s biblical den were of this Asiatic kind, smaller than African lions, with a lower-slung belly. The survivors in Gujarat—which live, incidentally, alongside 20,000 descendants of African slaves, whose ancestors were freighted to the region two centuries ago—are a rare conservation success. There were just two dozen animals by 1900, when the local maharajas and British officers started shooting them less and protecting them more. But in the past four months, eight Asiatic lions have been killed by poachers.

Unlike tigers and leopards, which are poached for their pelts and for their bones to make Chinese traditional medicines, lion carcasses used not to be prized on the black market. That seems to have changed. The animals poached at Gir were snared, using steel tiger traps, by experienced tiger killers, members of an “untouchable” community devoted to the task. Their bones—practically indistinguishable from tiger bones—were removed. Indian wildlife officials believe they will be smuggled to China, as either counterfeit tiger bones or an acceptable substitute for them.

Gujarat’s state government, which relishes its custody of the last of the breed that adorns India’s national symbol, has lurched into action. The chief minister has pledged an additional 400m rupees ($9.8m) to Gir, which will pay for 300 extra guards. There has also been an investigation into the recent poaching; 40 people have been arrested.

Alas, this may not save the Asiatic lion, if the plight of India’s tigers is any guide. Despite decades of intermittent government flurries of activity to save them, Indian tiger numbers have collapsed, to around 1,800 in the wild, about half the world’s total. They are victims of China’s feverish demand for tiger-penis wine and for tiger bones, of a corrupt and moribund Indian Forest Service and of the populist concerns of the current government for the tribes who live, and sometimes poach, in India’s protected forests.

Protecting the Asiatic lions will take more than money. A clear-out of Gujarat’s indolent forestry officials is required. Hundreds of wells, dug in the Gir reserve by local tribes, need to be covered; 19 lions have drowned in these pits in the past five years. And a second lion colony is needed, in order to guard against a high risk of the Gir lions being wiped out by an epidemic. A suitable forest, in Madhya Pradesh, has been prepared for this; 1,500 families have been moved out of the area. But Gujarat’s government, jealous of what it considers to be its lions, has refused to let any leave the state.

Instructions on how to build a nuclear reactor have been revealed from five sealed envelopes that have lain hidden for almost 70 years

The documents were sent to the UK’s Royal Society for safekeeping by James Chadwick, discoverer of the neutron, during World War II.

He felt their contents, which described cutting-edge science, were far too sensitive to publish at the time.

The envelopes were recently discovered in the science academy’s archives.

I can see why these papers were locked away during the war
Brian Cox, Cern

They were opened on Thursday to mark the 75th anniversary of the neutron’s discovery. The publication of James Chadwick’s paper, The Existence of a Neutron, kick-started the field of nuclear physics.Keith Moore, head of library and archives at the Royal Society, said: “The papers have only recently been discovered as part of our ongoing programme to catalogue the Society’s archives.

“The documents have been sealed for so long it only seemed right to wait for an occasion to open them. The anniversary of Chadwick’s discovery seemed fitting.”

‘Inadvisable to publish’

International Medical Tourism

The envelopes contain the work of two French scientists, Hans Von Halban and Lew Kowarski, who worked in the Cavendish laboratory in Cambridge.

The documents detail experiments on nuclear fission, covering the components needed to make a nuclear reactor, how to create plutonium from uranium, and methods to stabilise nuclear chain reactions.

Dr Brian Cox, a particle physicist from Cern, said: “These papers describe what was cutting-edge science at the time.

“The sheer amount of knowledge that these papers contain amazes me – only eight years after Chadwick discovered that a neutron even existed, these scientists are already looking at how to use neutrons to bring about nuclear fission and energy.

“I can see why these papers were locked away during the war – they contain details that could be used to build a nuclear reactor.”

The sealed envelopes were accompanied by a letter from Professor Chadwick. Recognising the possible consequences of nuclear fission’s massive energy releases, he wrote that the work was “inadvisable to publish at the present time”.

Dr Cox said: “These papers are a truly significant part of nuclear history. They provide a fascinating insight into the inquisitive nature of scientists working in a field moving so rapidly it was almost outpacing them.

“It is fascinating to read their views on what might come of their research – and how accurate some of their predictions have been.”

The Islamists Are Coming!
And they’ve got their lawyers with them.

Boston
Bill Sapers doesn’t much look like the kind of guy who would find himself staring down radical Islamists or their friends. A 79-year-old accountant, approximately five-foot-six, bespectacled and soft-spoken, Sapers personifies the “distinguished gentleman.” But the Islamic Society of Boston, after vainly tussling with him in court for roughly 18 months, would probably dispute that characterization.

Until the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) sued Sapers in late 2005 and gave him a small and unwanted measure of fame, he was far from a public figure. Until then, Sapers had been an anonymous businessman who busied himself with civic activities in his spare time; he has worked with the Anti-Defamation League and is a member of the foundation for Boston’s Roxbury Community College.

It was in the course of his duties for the college that Sapers’s path crossed that of the ISB. At a meeting of the board in 2002, a fellow board member reported a coup: “Saudi Arabia was going to build the college a garage,” Sapers recalls. Sapers asked exactly what this meant, and was told that the college had been the beneficiary of a deal between the city of Boston and the ISB.

It turned out the board member had mangled some details (a garage was never part of the equation), but the deal was still an intriguing one. When Sapers first heard of it, the city had sold the Islamic Society of Boston a piece of land adjacent to Roxbury Community College at a cut-rate price. Depending on who you ask, the land had been conveyed for somewhere between 10 percent and 40 percent of its appraised value. On the plot, the ISB was going to build a $22 million mosque with a 125-foot minaret and a 75-foot dome. In exchange for the city’s largesse, the ISB would provide nebulously defined services to Roxbury Community College, including an educational lecture series, and nebulously defined services to the city, including maintenance of a nearby public park.

This arrangement aroused Sapers’s curiosity, and he started looking into the ISB. A cursory inspection of the organization’s IRS records showed that one of the ISB’s seven trustees in the late 1990s was a cleric whose name Sapers knew from his work with the Anti-Defamation League: Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a notorious radical.

Although academic apologists for Islamists strangely praise al-Qaradawi as a moderate, he is a well-known figure in the global jihad who has famously vowed that Islam will conquer both Europe and the United States. According to Lebanese-born terror expert Walid Phares, “al-Qaradawi produced most of the doctrinal foundations for Jihadi radicalism since the mid-1990s, including the incitement for Jihadists to defeat the Africans in southern Sudan, the Middle East minorities, and women’s movements. Al-Qaradawi [calls for the] further Talibanization of the Muslim world.”

Sapers kept digging. He contacted famed terror expert Steve Emerson, who, as it turned out, had long been documenting the ISB’s ties with supporters and enablers of extremism. Shortly thereafter, Charles Jacobs, another Boston resident, warmed to the scent as well. Jacobs is perhaps America’s foremost activist in the fight against the human slave trade and the head of the David Project, an organization dedicated to honest reporting on the Middle East.

In 2003, this crew reached out to local media outlets. That October, the Boston Herald began publishing a withering series of articles documenting the ISB’s unsavory ties. Challenged about al-Qaradawi, the ISB denied he’d been a trustee and explained his listing on the IRS forms as a clerical oversight. But then it emerged that the ISB had used a taped appearance by al-Qaradawi (by this time barred from entering the United States) as a fundraising tool in 2002.

There was more. The Herald and Fox 25, Boston’s local Fox affiliate, reported on the writings of ISB trustee Walid Fitaihi, who had been one of the signatories to the city’s generous land transfer. Fitaihi had decried Jews as the “murderers of prophets” and claimed that Jews “would be punished for their oppression, murder and rape of the worshippers of Allah.” Fitaihi also declared his scorn for the “Zionist lobby in America . . . which has recruited many of the influential media.”

Unfortunately for Sapers and Jacobs, their efforts to arouse the interest of influential media outlets met with mixed results. While the Herald and Fox 25 reported the story aggressively, the Boston Globe–with the conspicuous exception of conservative op-ed columnist Jeff Jacoby–largely ignored it, as did the other local network affiliates.

Equally unconcerned were the city of Boston and the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA). The BRA was the city authority that had made the land deal with the ISB, yet refused to answer direct questions about it. The David Project has sued the BRA to get a gander at the public documents related to that conveyance.

In late 2005, the ISB sued Sapers, Jacobs, the Herald, Emerson, Fox 25, and all the reporters who had covered the story for tortious defamation. The inclusion of Jacobs, Emerson, and Sapers was especially curious, since all these men had done was talk to reporters. The free speech issues at stake were sufficiently grave that renowned First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams agreed to represent Emerson. Attorney Jeff Robbins of the prominent Boston law firm Mintz Levin represented Jacobs and the David Project on a pro-bono basis.

Jacobs points out that the purpose of lawsuits like this (and the one brought on behalf of the Minneapolis airport’s “flying imams”) is to chill criticism of Islamic groups, even the airing of accurate information. Certainly, any media outlet that reports on the Islamic Society of Boston has to know that a lawsuit may well be its reward for reporting that displeases the ISB. Perhaps that explains why the Boston Globe showed little interest in the story, and, when it did cover it, seemed to bend over backwards to avoid offending the ISB or its attorneys.

As for the defendants in the case, they refused to be intimidated. The suit’s transparently frivolous nature emboldened them.

The linchpin of the ISB’s complaint was that all of the defendants had been negligent in relying on Steve Emerson as a terror expert. To support this notion, the suit quoted a 1991 New York Times article that disparaged Emerson. Lest this 16-year-old newspaper piece not be deemed dispositive, the complaint also cited a 1998 article from something called the Weekly Planet that said, “Emerson has no credibility left. He can’t get on TV and most publications won’t pick him up.” In the 12 months preceding the ISB’s lawsuit, Emerson had appeared on MSNBC 65 times, Fox News 78 times, and NBC 16 times including multiple appearances on the Today Show and the Nightly News.

But even if you’re bound to win, being sued is taxing. Boston city councilor Jerry McDermott, who aggressively pursued the unusual land conveyance to the ISB, was threatened with a lawsuit and received menacing phone calls at home, where he lives with his wife and two young daughters.

As for near-octogenarian Bill Sapers, he declared himself “too dumb to be scared.” Apparently recognizing the hopelessness of intimidating Sapers, Emerson, Jacobs, and the media outlets who were fighting its lawsuit, the ISB finally backed down, though not before securing a face-saving concession: A second lawsuit was also dropped last week, the appeal of a previously dismissed case in which a citizen had disputed the BRA’s conveyance to the ISB. This allowed the ISB, however implausibly, to declare victory, even as it swallowed its supposed outrage over being defamed.

But Sapers is declaring victory, too, saying, “This case was about our attempt to bring the truth to the table and their attempt to silence us.” The latter attempt failed. Still, thanks to the media’s and government’s indifference, the defendants’ vindication rings a bit hollow. The Boston Globe’s coverage of last week’s developments failed to mention the ISB’s ties to extremists like Qaradawi. And the City of Boston, through the BRA, continues to stonewall efforts to determine exactly how the land transfer to the ISB came about. The David Project’s lawsuit against the BRA seeking access to records that should be public labors on; the BRA remains less than forthcoming. Meanwhile, construction on the new mosque is far advanced.

You have to wonder: If people like Sapers, Jacobs, and Emerson are our modern Paul Reveres sounding an alarm that needs to be heard, can they be successful if our most prominent media outlets and even our government ignore them?

Above all Al Qaeda is a “Secret Society” secret , almost virtual organization one that denies its own existence in order to remain in the shadows. This explains why it always uses other names and identities ( such s the World Islamic Front for the Jihad against the Jews , Infidels and Crusaders) when referrring to its actions , beliefs or statements. Therby Al Quaeda keeps the western world guessing about its actions , beliefs and its true intentions. Al Queada maintains its pracitce of true and absolute secrecy even when dealing with with Islamist parties and armed groups that share its aspirations . To them , it is an enigma, a shadowy group and body that many of them greatly aspire to share in its Islamic moivations , rituals and indeed Islamist aspirations.

Al Queada accepts only a tiny proportion of those eligible for enrollment gicen the very strict selection criteria that it imposes.
